Simply Clean Nine

It’s been a quite year on the photography side of my life. I’ve had lots of personal events happen to me throughout the year, not to go too much into detail but I almost died do to some issues with my liver. But here I am, alive, strong, and ready to get back to what I love doing. For this year’s Simply Clean it would be 11 months since I’ve done anything with my camera. Had to break in the new year with a good piece of glass to rent. I’ve always wanted to try out Sigma’s Art Series Lenses, so I picked up their 35mm Art Lens and wow it is amazing! I wish I had the USB lens dock to further calibrate the lens to my 1Dmark3 but it worked really well out side of the box. Sadly the weather didn’t play 100% so it kept wanting to focus on the clouds on the paint of the vehicles. Plus being almost a year out of practice it took a few dozen shots to get back into groove of things.

The event itself though was amazing, I think this year I saw more friends than ever. I can’t thank Nickoli enough for creating this event and making it better and better every year. Since the first event I always felt I was home surrounded by friends with one passion. Enough of me blabbing, expect one more coverage next month for Wekfest. Again, enjoy the snaps!

Riverside Chatta Pre-Meet

2016 so far as been a great start for my camera. It’s been snapping away like crazy and this past weekend was no short of that. I packed up my Audi, aired up, and headed north to Chattanooga, TN for the first annual Riverside Car Meet. This was my first time in Chattanooga and the 9 hour driver was well worth it. I just want to thank the whole staff, I usually don’t travel this far for a first car show/meet, but the over 4 month of planning I knew it was going to be a big deal. Plus the location was an awesome idea for holding about a 100 top of the line cars with vendors.

I’ll get into the show next post, this right now is about the quick little pre-meet friday evening on a long hill street. Pretty awesome to see 40-50 cars on one long street and amazing food and drinks over at The Bitter Alibi. Enjoy the pictures everyone, I’ll be post the main meet pictures next week.

2016 Titan Motorsports Open House

This past week Titan Motorsports open their doors for their annual open house. Every year, Titan Motorsports holds a dyno show, car show, and bikini girl show…what better way to spend a gorgeous florida Saturday? Lots of nice car’s this year inside the Titan compound, especially my boy’s S2000. Good thing I didn’t take Summer, she would have been jealous and looking at me mad that she isn’t looking that good. It was a bit weird driving my newly bagged Audi Avant for the first time to a car show and leaving my S2000 in the garage. Enjoy the pictures everyone.

Busy Shutter

What’s going on everyone? I do apologize for the lack of updates. It’s been a busy last few weeks. The biggest weekend started on the 29th for me of January, it was my first time being an actual official media photographer at Daytona Speedworld for the 2016 24hours of the Rolex. Covering the event for both Enjuku Racing and S3 Magazine, I was a bit nervous to say the least. I’ll be posting my full coverage soon.

But for a little down time, I was able to attend my first S2000 Mega Meet in over 3 years. The host none other than Kamispeed was there with open doors to welcome us S2000 owners like the previous years. I snapped a few pictures, but I was more talking to owners and friends more. Sadly it was cut really short by good old Florida rain. Enjoy the few shots and stay tuned for my Rolex 24 coverage!

Just Add JDM Spice and Mix

I come from the JDM side of the car scene, I’m use to seeing TE37’s, RG2s, fender flares, and big wings on cars. Just recently migrating to the euro scene it’s rare to see Audi’s, Mercedes, volkswagens with JDM wheels and what have you. What’s funny is that I asked my friend “I wonder how TE37s would look on my A4 Avant.” Oh what an awesome surprise that awaited me in Vegas.

The crew over at Allroad Outfitters answered the question for me. They equipped their vehicles with an array of JDM flavor. First up was this black Audi SQ5, lowered on KW Suspension not on bags like the norm. A set of black TE37s with fat meatty tires all the way around. I couldn’t believe how clean and simple this set up was on a SUV. Then at the corner of my eye, a huge APR spoiler bolted on a flared out S4 shined in the sunlight. A car i’ve only seen on instagram was right before my eyes. 100% custom carbon fiber flares front and rear, allowing those 18×12 ZE40s to wear 335 Toyo Tires all the way around. Yes, 335 tires on all corners, jaw was dropped. Their latest car to the crew I didn’t find till the next day in the Toyo Tires section. There actually talked to one of the guys from Allroad Outfitters, super nice dude, and I’m sad to say that his name escapes my mind at this moment. A brand new Audi S3, fitted with their latest custom made flare set to make this beauty even wider from the factory. A set of blood red TE37RTs with yet again 335 Toyo Tires all the way around. It’s amazing how much room is still left to play with these flares slapped on.

Well I’m converted! I love my audi even more now that it can pull off any look it wants. You can go all VIP Show or full on street race car look. Allroad Outfitters definitely has me looking at my Avant very differently than before.

It’s Always Sunny in Philasvegas

This one vehicle, surprised the heck out of me when I saw it shining bright from the sunlight outside in the Toyo Tires Booth. I was stumped, I actually didn’t know what it was till I saw the other half of the vehicle. I think I literally said out loud “Holy Shit, it’s a Sunny Truck.” Here in the states we call it a Datsun 1600 (620) when it was offered by Datsun after the Datsun 1200 release in Japan. Dominic, the owner of the Hakotora truck, which is what it’s called in Japan. It’s half skyline and half truck, its the two perfect halves into making an amazing vehicle. Especially how Dominic finished it off with a set of CF flares to cover the poke from the TE37v’s. Later on that day after finding him on Instagram, it comes to find out it has a Silvia heart, with a 400+ hp SR20 power plant. This Sunny truck just got a whole lot coolerer. Enjoy the quick snaps everyone!

First Random Snaps of 2016

2015 was such an up and down year for me. I can get into the whole personal stuff, but it gets no one anywhere. What’s done is done, now for my photography work for 2015 it has been a huge jump in exposure. Again, this is still a hobby of mine as I would love for it to be my full-time job, but I’m still not there yet personally. This past year I’ve made so many new friends, met many followers. It’s surreal at times when I get stopped at shows to say ‘hey man i follow you, love your work/car’ it’s an awesome feeling I must admit. Lately my photography has been more as therapy, either hanging out with friends, by myself, it’s something about dusting off my camera and I look through that viewfinder and my worries just leaves my mind.

I needed that today so my buddy Mike woke me up around 11am and told me to meet him at the Starbucks near downtown Eau Gallie. It’s been over 2 weeks since I’ve moved my S2000 as well, so that was another treat for today. After some much-needed caffeine we drove around and spotted some cool locations for some pictures. We’re not much known for cool graffiti walls so there’s only so much we can shoot around here. It was the right amount to get me out of this funk and I appreciate Mike for getting me out. Anyways, here are the couple snaps. Lots going on these next few months though so I can’t wait to show you all the upcoming Motorsports events and meets and shows!

Olds, Low, and Slow

In the midst of imports, trucks, race cars, and widebody body panels this 1960’s Oldsmobile glimmered in the late-morning sunlight. Freshly being detailed it’s like being first in line at a Krispy Kreme when they just turned on the fresh hot and ready sign. I sadly didn’t get to spend too much time on her as the crowd was getting bigger and bigger. I tried to take as many detailed shots, but as you can see she was a big old girl. Hard to even catch her all with my 24-70 lens. Owned by Eric Conner, this is his own personal car that he and his shop SoCal Suspension did. Glad to have waited out the crowds for this beauty. I’ve been seeing magazine shoots on her all over instagram so can’t wait to see what other photographers create, because this is one masterpiece.

Simply Clean Family 7

Well it’s that time again, for gorgeous cool weather, smell of fresh wax and tire shine and of course la brujha. If you don’t know what the brujha is, you’re lucky. Apart from the drinking, Simply Clean goes deeper than the average car show. If we go back a few years back Nickoli always stressed the importance of Family. With social media getting bigger and bigger so does your friend circle. Simply Clean with how big and popular it is, brings everyone under one roof. Thankfully this year the rain stayed away and everything felt even more organized than the previous years. It was great talking to old friends and meeting new people. Always taken back when I’m walking around taking pictures and someone new stops me to say what’s up cause they follow me or know of me because of my car. That’s what keeps me coming to Simply Clean shows, you are always guaranteed and awesome time. Big shout-out to all of the staff at Simply Clean, much much love!

What Happens in Vegas, Get’s Posted on Instagram

Well, this time last week I went over to a city that never sleeps, good ole Las Vegas for this year’s SEMA show. Well, I won’t go too much into it as this year I took well over 3,000 pictures. So today I was trying to figure out how to present my 4 day adventure without drowning people with so many pictures. So I came up with this, I’ll be presenting each week a different theme at SEMA and some with just one car since I took a bunch of just one car at the show. So we’ll do something like, Imports of SEMA, Trucks of SEMA, RWB’s at SEMA, the Toyo Tires Booth Cars of SEMA, and so forth. Still trying to fine tune what I’ll be posting but you get the gist of it. Anyways, enjoy a few pictures until hopefully Wednesday or Thursday, trying to get at least one article up before Simply Clean 7 meet this weekend…ugh! Such a busy month! Enjoy guys!
